If the stick is to your left and you have your right hand on top of the stick, then you should go for a left hooked stick. It is the most common hook and can be likened to being right-handed.
If the stick is to your right and you have your left hand on top of the stick, then you should go for a stick with right hooked blade. It's a slightly more unusual hook.
